The center shield lock/lift tab is a poor modification to an age old left side tab. The center front top vent is pushed open via airflow during normal freeway riding requiring frequent closure. I like the fit and have had the old 1000/1100/1200/1300 through the years. Hopefully a RF1500 (whenever it appears) will have the old left tab.

This is a great helmet. Comfortable fit and earphones and glasses also fit. Good wide visibility and the yellow really pops on the road to increase your visibility to others. I notice a significant noise reduction between this helmet and the RF-SR. Very satisfied with my purchase. SHOEI is the best!

I had an RF1200 for 5 years and loved it so much I did not even consider another helmet. The ONLY disappointment was finding out the Brilliant Yellow does not look like the picture. The picture makes it look more of a matte finish. The yellow is 100% high gloss. Which is fine, but the matte would have been better especially since the pictures make it look matte. So, bit of a letdown, but I didn't buy it for the color or finish, I bought it because it is an absolutely amazing helmet.

This is an extremely comfortable helmet ! Light weight and very quiet. At first I was hesitant to buy it because of the price tag but I’ll say I’m glad I bought it. Worth every penny dime.

This helmet saved my life. My spine had partially disconnected from my skull and I was paralyzed on my right side. If I didn't have the emergency release feature of this helmet, my skull would not have remained connected to my spine and I couldn't have survived. Buying another and the same bike, lolz, no ragrets

Saved my life, and looked sick while doing it. Best bag for buck helmet you can find.

Got a good sale and was still a recently produced helmet (which is always a risk when buying discounted helmets). On-off is harder than my previous Arai, but I am hopeful that will correspond to better noise and airflow management which was a constant issue with the Arai. Love the canary yellow color!

I ordered the shoei rf-1400 and was missing items that was supposed to come with it and contacted support Danielle Segre handled my issue professionally and with great care I got my items plus a tshirt for my troubles. I am greatly satisfied.

I love this helmet. It fits snug and is quiet. The only thing that I find challenging is the changing of the clear shield to my tinted shield. The lock apparatus is very hard to snap and unsnap the connectors where the shields plug into. Besides the shield challenge, the look, the feel, and the fit is nice.

Very quiet, very snug. Will be ordering thin center pads when they come in to see how they affect fit. The center lock for the shield seems to be a major complaint. I've found the easiest method to open it is to use your index finger like you're shushing someone, pressing and up at the same time. Pops right open without issues. The indexed shield locations are very stiff when new, so it will hold whatever position you leave it in. Yet to put in some speakers. If you run plugs and want some extra room for your ears, pull the speaker pads out. Adds a bit of wind noise, but it's minimal, and you get a few mm of room. I commute 40 miles one way at an avg of 75mph, no neck fatigue so far, and buffeting is a non-issue. great helmet so far.
