SHOEI HELMET IMPACT INSPECTION SERVICE
Important Notice: Please note that SHOEI and Helmet House do not approve most helmets submitted for impact inspection. We strongly recommend replacing any helmet that has sustained significant impact. Keep this in mind if you are considering the use of a damaged helmet.
SHOEI, in partnership with Helmet House, provides a free impact evaluation service for authentic SHOEI motorcycle helmets that are still under warranty.
Helmet Replacement Policy: It is advised to replace a helmet if it has sustained a significant impact while being worn. This recommendation is based on the possibility that the foam liner inside the helmet could be damaged, compromising its effectiveness, even if there are no obvious signs of damage.
Here’s how you can have your helmet inspected by Helmet House on behalf of SHOEI:
- The SHOEI helmet must be within the factory warranty period: 5 years from the purchase date or 7 years from the manufacturing date.
- The helmet must have been purchased new from an authorized SHOEI retailer in the U.S. and proof of purchase must be provided.
- Upload photos of the impact area(s) on the helmet using the form below. Note: If the photos indicate damage that clearly requires immediate replacement, the helmet will not be eligible for the inspection process.
- If your SHOEI helmet meets inspection criteria, Helmet House will contact you with shipping instructions. You are responsible for shipping costs to Helmet House but we will cover shipping charges when returning the helmet back after the inspection is complete.
- Once the inspection is complete, your helmet will be returned along with a letter outlining the findings. Regardless of whether it meets the inspection criteria, you will receive your helmet back.
- Helmet House does not conduct X-ray tests on SHOEI helmets. Our evaluations are limited to assessing surface damage and providing recommendations based on SHOEI's guidelines.
- If your helmet does not qualify for inspection service, Helmet House will inform you via email about the reasons for its rejection.
DISCLAIMER
Motorcycle helmets typically need to be replaced after an impact. However, Helmet House will carefully evaluate qualifying SHOEI helmets to determine whether they remain fit for use. Regardless of the inspection outcome, the helmet will be returned to you. The final decision to either continue using the helmet or to replace it rests solely with you. Please note that neither Helmet House nor SHOEI takes responsibility for any decisions made based on the inspection results, nor can we ensure that the inspection will identify every possible defect.
